                       "A Welcome at the Airport" I choose No.2.4.   Because,She is holding a sign, so I can gesse who is                  
she.But I choose No.4. Because this is a formal business! She should take a formal out fit, I think.

" A Virtual Contact"       I choose No.3      Because, He or She is a person I want to business
with. So ,I should send a formal e-mail to want he to know that I am serious. And I would like to make he be interested

     A.  3 *** It is wonderful to be welcomed so warmly.
                   <reason>　
                     I don't think  this lady is a secretary, because a　secretary　usually wears a suit.　This lady must be a person with whom I 'll have the　meeting.　She won't have enough time to change clothes.
                   I don't care so much what kind of outfit you wear or　not before a formal meeting. If she doesn't have a chance to change clothes before a meeting, it's all right for me to have a meeeting with a casual clothes like this.
                     The most important thing is a content of a meeting not　an outfit.

3.  The Returning Athlete

     A.  3 *** A big one, because even if she did not win, she did
participate in the Olympic games

                      I 'm the mayor of a small town. Everyone can watch the
Olympic  games.　However everyone can't paticipate in the Olympic
games. Only selected　athletes can.  If you couldn't get a medal, the fourth
place should be honored.
                      Anyway I'm the mayor, I have the responsibility to
hold an official event.

4.  A  Virtual  Contact
     A.  1 *** Write a formal , polite paper letter on your company
letterhead.

                      This 21 century is the age of computer, I know this
very well.　The relationship on the Web, even if it's a business
relationship,　it'll be  a quite common to have a contact without
seeing each other.
                      However I want to get a certain evidence that proves
our relations　on the paper. Only a Web , it's not reliable.
                      After I got a paper or letter from that person, then I
'll call myself.　
                      This idea will be based on D. 4 : Uncertainty

・In Shabby Guitar Player, I chose 3, because I may think that it is usual that people have a job. So, maybe I think If he had any jobs…

In A Welcome at the Airport, I chose 5. The reason is as in the paper, I may think that it is an error, because I am expecting a formal meeting.

In The Returning Athlete, 3, because I think that it is wonderful to be able to take part in the Olympic.

In the last one, I chose 3, because it is important to be friendly to somebody who works with. We will talk to so friendly, he may think that he wants to start a business.
