Debate

We think that gJapan is not a good place for foreigners to live.h

Affirmative Team Argument: Arguing in favor of the above resolution

Reason 1: Our first reason is the price level is high in Japan

Support 1: Firstly, for example, a cup of ramen in Japan = 1000 yen but it is 10 yen in South East Asia.

Support 2: Secondly, according to the statistics, GDP per person in Japan is $20,000 so it is difficult for tourists to come to Japan.

Reason 2: Our second reason is Japan is an island country and a closed country, and it has been for a long time.

Support 1: Firstly, for example, we take off our shoes in the front hall in Japan, but we do not take them off in foreign countries.

Support 2: Secondly, for example, Japanese do not speak straight but foreigners speak straight. Like that, Japanese custom is very different from other countries.

Support 3: Thirdly, everyone knows that Japan is a homogeneous country and accepts very few refugees.

Negative Team Rebuttal

The say, ga cup of ramen in Japan is 1000 yen but it is 10 yen in South East Asiah. That may be true but we think that our daily life level is different, so the price is reasonable.

They say gaccording to the statistics, GDP per person in Japan is $20,000 and tourists who come to Japan is very few.h But I disagree, we have a lot of sightseeing places and a lot of tourists. For example, Tokyo, Nara, Kyoto etcetera.

They say gWe take off our shoes in the front hall in Japan, but we do not take them off in foreign countries.h Thatfs true but we think taking off our shoes is a good way to clean the house, and it is a good Japanese custom. So, non-Japanese should learn it.h

Negative Team Argument: Arguing against the above resolution

Reason 1: Out first reason is Japan has four seasons and it provides clean water, clean plants and clean air.

Support 1: Firstly, for example, when we go to a restaurant we can have clean water, clean vegetables, clean rice and so on anytime and anywhere.

Support 2: Secondly, everyone knows that Japan has 4 beautiful seasons. Because of this Japanese have rich humanity, kindness and politeness.

Support 3: Thirdly, statistics say that Japan has a few refugees because the area of Japan is small. So Japan keeps the peace over the country.

Support 4: Fourthly, throughout the year we can enjoy a lot of festivals of the season.

Reason 2: Our second reason is Japan has a great transportation network. So itfs easy for living.

Support 1: Firstly, for example, the time table of each train line is just correct, cheap, and safe.

Support 2: Secondly, the transportation is very convenient. And for living, we have a convenience store and road station in all parts of the country.

Support 3: Thirdly, there are a lot of hot springs, museums, and they show Japanese tradition.

Support 4: According to the 30 most spoken languages of the world list, there is a country that uses several languages but Japan uses one. So, this is one factor that makes it easy to live in Japan.@

Affirmative Team Rebuttal:

We disagree. They say, gWhen we go to a restaurant we can have clean water, clean vegetables, clean rice and so on anytime and anywhere.h But, no we donft think so. We think almost all the food in Japan is imported from foreign countries. If this stops, then we cannot eat anytime anywhere, that is not convenient.

They say, gThe transportation is very convenient. And for living, we have a convenience store and road station in all parts of the country.h We disagree. We think convenience store and road station are being built more and more. This will destroy the environment in Japan. The convenience is not necessarily good for living.

We disagree. They say gAccording to the 30 most spoken languages of the world list, there is a country that uses several languages but Japan uses one. So, this is one factor that makes it easy to live in Japan.h But, no we donft think so. We think foreign country use a global language, English, but in Japan almost all people only use Japanese. So, foreigners must study difficult Japanese to live in Japan.
