'm Yuriko ISHIHARA .Please call me Yuriko ( but please don't call me "obasan").

I'm married. I live in Morioka with my husband and a pet dog Runa.

We have two daughters and they live in Tokyo.

My favorite music is rock , popular , Jazz , bossa - nova , chanson .....any music except "Enka".Enka is so sad.

I'm a happy-go-lucky person , so I'm not sure if I am a stickler for something.

Maybe ......"Nutrition". I hear nowadays  fresh vegetables don't contain enough vitamins and minerals. I feel we should take nutrition supplement and I take them every day.

By the way, I was born in Fukushima  and raised in several prefectures because of my father's transference.

Past job was an office worker (some decades ago !).

Field of specialization was " Human Development and Education".

Something good that has happend to me lately :

During spring holiday I went to Taiwan with my older daughter. We had lots of delicious food and saw some beautiful temples. In addition , we had foot massages twice ! But also there was something bad. Our guide said it was the coldest winter in twenty years ! As you know Taiwan is in the subtropics.

Although we had packed only summer clothes , it was chilly and raining every day ! I'm a really freak -of - nature - woman ? ! I'd like to tell you about this topic someday.

I like Europe and North America. But now I'm interested in Asia, especially Vietnum.

In this course I don't expect how to teach English so much.

My expectations are :

1. to learn about a multicultural society like Singapore - how do they manage

their religions, languages, races and traditions each other ?

2. how we Japanese get over the barrier of our typical feeling to get along with

   other people.

I also expect how Mr. Hall lead us to " Multicultual education". And I really hope that you won't give us too difficult assignments
